Matt Theodore - Photographer & Founder of Studio Roost

Artist Bio:

Matt is a professional photographer with thirty years of experience in a broad range of disciplines from fine art to fashion and product. He is a Master of the Arts in Photography (UAL) and a Bachelor of Commercial Photography and runs a commercial photographic practice and studio in Bournemouth BH1.

Matt’s commercial photographic practice has taken the form of commissioned editorial, advertising, fashion, portraiture and studio practice and underwater work for national and international publications and awards.

He has a personal art-based portrait practice which is driven by political and cultural issues in contemporary society. The journey, often personal explores dreams desires and tension, in a complex reframing of the familiar.

Studio Roost was founded in 2021 as a response to Matt’s many interests gained through life as a photographer, academic, diver and artist. The space provides commercial hire as well as taking on commercial photographic commissions and hosting community-based projects as a gallery space.
